The Devonshire and Dorset Regiment – 11th, 39th and 54th of Foot 1958 – 2007

£5.00

Description

Since it’s formation on the 17th of May 1958, The Devonshire and Dorset Regiment has played an extremely full role in the British Army’s order of battle, serving in Cyprus, British Guiana (Guyana), Northern Ireland, West Germany, Malta, British Honduras (Belize), Berlin, the Falkland Islands, the Gulf, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. As a result of the reorganisation of the British Army, reflecting changing operational requirements, the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment was merged in to a new Regiment, The Rifles, on 1st February 2007.

This book tells the story, largely in photographic form, of the many and varied achievements of all parts of the Regimental Family- the 1st Battalion, the Territorial Army, the Cadet Forces, the Regimental Associations and, of course, their families- during forty eight momentous years.

All of the proceeds from sales on our online shop are donated to the Keep Military Museum’s registered charity. This helps care for our objects and develop our displays.
