While the museum is closed, we have a variety of options to bring the museum to you in the community. We are making appearances across the town of Dorchester and further afield, including regular sessions for young people at Dorchester Library and other community spaces during the school holidays. Keep an eye on The Keep socials for updates on these events.

We also provide the ‘Hassle-free School Trip’. An excellent alternative to the traditional school trip, our Education Officer will liaise with the class teacher to curate the perfect workshops for your class. You don’t have to worry about booking a bus or writing risk assessments, our DBS-checked and safeguarding trained Education Officer will come to you. Bringing tailor-designed activities, artefacts and replicas, as well as things to try on and plenty of photo opportunities!

“The children really enjoyed Lauren's visit and they learnt a lot from her visit. I was not there for the whole day, but feedback from staff and children was really positive. The children loved their detective badges and medal activity… Thank you again Lauren for a lovely day - you were really great with the children.”

“The woman leading the session was really nice, warm and good with the children. Our daughter clearly loved the attention and interest that she was showing her and the activities she was doing. Our daughter was interested and engaged with all of the activities on offer (I think she did them all!) and she even wanted to borrow some books on the subject. We also had some conversations about my grandparents' experience of World War II and how it was in Jersey (where we're from) which was occupied during that time. Really glad we came to the library this morning!”
