Discover Your Military Object, Saturday 6th November & Monday 8th November- 11am-3pm

Old medals in a drawer somewhere? A relative's military uniform in the loft? Badges and patches that no one can remember the origin of?

Bring your military objects to the Keep on Saturday 6th and Monday 8th of November from 11am-3pm and we'll help you identify them! Whether linked to the Devon and Dorsets or not, we'll do our best to give you any information about your object, be it clothing, insignia, or issued army kit! See you then!

Please note we will not be able to provide valuations for objects, and please do not bring any firearms to the event.

The Keep Poppy Project, Remembrance 2021

For Remembrance Day this year we are launching our Poppy Project!

We're asking for visitors over the half term to help create felt poppies, which will be attached to netting and then draped over the front of our building, creating a stunning visual display that can be seen from across the town.

To get involved, come to the museum over half term and visit our Poppy Stall, where you can make a felt poppy for free that will be included in the final tapestry. Each poppy can commemorate a lost loved one, remember those lost in war, and acknowledge those whose lives are impacted by conflict. It is free to take part, and children go FREE at the Keep, so visit us this half term to get involved!

Read about the significance of the poppy during the Remembrance period below on the Royal British Legions website.
