Keep volunteer Jane Mills has worked tirelessly to put together a Roll of Honour to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme. The list of those from the Devonshire and Dorset regiments who fell during the 141 days of the battle is on display at the Keep alongside information and artifacts from the Somme. Visitors have been moved by the exhbit as well as the Trench Experience - an opportunity to gain an idea of the conditions faced by the soldiers who took part in one of the most infamous battles in British history.
The Roll of Honour can be viewed on our dedicated Somme page on this website or by clicking HERE.
Deputy Curator of the Keep Military Museum Alexia Sully (pictured) said: “The Roll of Honour has been made possible by the tireless work of a museum volunteer, Jane Mills, who through extensive research has created this moving tribute. The Roll of Honour includes names, burial details and where possible photographs of those who lost their lives.”Claire: 30th Jun 2016 09:35:00
