Technical Advice/FAQsOur aim was to create this pack for delivery on classroom computers of middle and upper specifications. This approach was taken to ensure that the basic pack remained usable for as long as possible. Some interactive features do not work properly.
The presentations were written with Microsoft Office 2003, while the programme's ability to 'read back' to earlier versions is greatly enhanced, the only true solution is to use the latest version of the software. The embedded video will not run in PowerPoint on the whiteboard. With some older computers, with slower speeds and less RAM, the video presents as a blank screen. The solution to this problem is to turn off ALL programmes and peripherals unnecessary for the lesson. If this does not work, further resources can be released to display the video by temporarily disabling other functions in the machine including the monitor. Upgrading computers with additional RAM (of the appropriate type) can be a relatively inexpensive way of extending the useful life of a computer. This can, however, be difficult to find for laptops.
