Suvla Trenches

From August through into the autumn the QODY along with 5th Dorsets served in the trenches. Conditions were as bad and dangerous in the Gallipoli trenches as they were on the Western Front but with the addition of the scourge of disease. The regiments of Dorset suffered as many losses from sickness, as from enemy action, including both commanding officers.
